An All Time Favorite! | DAUGHTER <3

“THE FOLK BAND FROM ENGLAND”

a-daughter

Daughter is a European indie folk band from England. Fronted by North London native Elena Tonra, they were formed in 2010 after the addition of Swiss-born guitarist Igor Haefeli and drummer Remi Aguilella from France.

They’ve been a favorite of Dendera since I first came across their unique sound on indieshuffle.com, over a year ago or so. They were actually featured on a fun set I did showcasing female vocalists called, ‘Dendera Presents… 25 Indie Female Phenoms!!’

In putting this post together, I visited their official band page, and came across a pretty incredible discovery. As it turns out, they are extremely supportive of Audio and Video producers out there wanting to utilize their art for their own masterpieces, so they have made downloadable content available –FREE– to those inquiring minds who want to use it! The page is appropriately called Freespace –http://www.ohdaughter.com/freespace/ –  check it out for yourself! You can also stay up to date with their latest news, releases – ‘If You Leave’ out now!! – and other updates right here at denderamusic.com or the band’s official site – ohdaughter.com

…My personal favorite – ‘Medicine’ from Wild Youth… “Beautifully weave the intimacy and honesty of timeless, classic folk with the glacial, experimental soundscapes that draw to mind the work of Bjork & Jonsi Birgisson.”

From His Young Heart – ‘Landfill’

…From their newest album If You Leave‘Youth’
